How to care for your jewelry FAQ

What is our jewelry made of?

Lust by Ella jewelry is made of Real Gold Plate with the base material being either brass, copper or stainless steel.

What is gold-plated jewelry?

Gold-plated jewelry is jewelry made of a base metal (e.g. brass, stainless steel) that has been covered with a thin layer of gold on top. Which means, yes, all gold-plated jewelry are prone to tarnishing eventually no matter what. However with proper care, your Lust by Ella jewelries can last and stay luster for a long time.

Can you wear your jewelry into water?

Yes, you can wear your jewelry into water, they are water-resistant. However, we don't recommend you exposing your jewelry to water/moisture on the daily as this will increase the likelihood of tarnishing.

Can you wear your jewelry in the shower?

Yes you can as they are water-resistant. However again, we don't recommend constant exposure to moisture on the daily. And also, avoid harsh chemicals like; soap, body wash, lotion etc!

What should you do to preserve the quality of your jewelry?

TL;DR: Do not expose your jewelry to moisture on the daily, occasionally is fine.

  • Do not expose your jewelry to moisture (water, sweat etc) on the daily, occasionally is fine. Just pat dry if exposed to moisture.
  • Do not sweat excessively on your jewelry. Little bit is fine. Which means, please take your jewelry off when you do physical exercise (gym).
  • Do not leave your on bathroom counters or humid surfaces. Remember, please just pat dry if exposed to moisture!
  • Avoid harsh chemicals like; soap, body wash, perfume, detergent etc. Our jewelries are water-resistant, not soap resistant!
